Service & inspections

You know what we will do and what it will cost before we begin.

For bikes visiting us for the first time, we always carry out a full service. It is the only reliable way to assess the bike’s condition and road safety.

Before every repair or inspection, we examine the bike and send you a quote showing the work and cost. We only begin after your approval, so there are no surprises when you collect the bike.

01

Assessment

We inspect the entire bike and record what is technically necessary and what else would be useful.

02

Quote

You receive the planned work and costs in writing before we start.

03

Work

Only after approval.
If we discover anything else, we contact you first and update the quote.

Repairs & conversions

Repair before replacement.

We handle conventional repairs as well as more complex conversions, from brakes, drivetrains and wheels to individual luggage and transport solutions.

Bicycles & cargo bikes

We service and repair bikes from many brands, even if they were not bought from us.

Electric bikes

The service we can provide depends on the drive system, diagnostic access and spare-part availability. We clarify this before the appointment when necessary.

We check compatibility and whether a conversion is technically, safely and economically sensible. We discuss proprietary parts and special solutions in advance.

FAQ

Process and FAQ.

Short answers about appointments, intake, additional findings and the bikes we can service.

Do I always need an appointment?

Please make an appointment for inspections and planned repairs. If you have a breakdown or a small repair, it is best to call us first. We can then tell you straight away whether and when we can fit you in.

I bought my bike from you. What are the service intervals?

The first inspection is due after no more than 500 kilometres. We check the complete bike and readjust anything that has settled during the first rides. This is often the most important inspection, so we give you a 50% discount on it. After that, we recommend one inspection per year, or two for annual mileages above 4,000 kilometres. Certain hubs and drive systems also require hub maintenance every 1,000 kilometres.

Are you a training workshop?

Yes. Craft knowledge only survives when it is passed on. Our apprentice works under supervision and gradually takes on more responsibility. We discuss and check the work together. We are still all human, and even experienced mechanics make mistakes. We take responsibility for our work. If anything does not feel right after collection, contact us and come back by arrangement. We will take it seriously and sort it out.

My bike still does not feel right after the workshop visit. Can I come back?

Absolutely. You paid good money for the repair and have the right to expect everything to work as agreed. Modern bicycles are complex, and something that was fine on our test ride can settle or begin rubbing after a week or two of weather and cobblestones. Contact us promptly, explain what you have noticed and come back by arrangement. We will check it carefully and take care of it.

Which bikes do you not accept?

We do not work on full-suspension mountain bikes, high-end racing bikes for mass-start races or vintage racing bikes. We also do not accept cargo bikes from Christiania, Bakfiets, Babboe, Nihola or Super Mighty, because maintenance, spare parts or technical documentation regularly reach limits. We do not accept bikes with Pendix, Bafang or similar retrofit motors. If you are unsure, send us the make, model, year, a short description and a few photos first.

Which electric-bike systems can you service?

Our workshop focuses on Bosch and Shimano drive systems. We have completed the relevant training, have regulated diagnostic access and can read fault memories. We also receive reliable technical information, software and spare parts. We cannot support other systems to the same standard. We clarify in advance whether we can carry out individual mechanical work on another system. We do not accept Pendix, Bafang or similar retrofit motors.

Do you work on direct-to-consumer bikes from Canyon, Rose or Simplon?

Generally, yes. What matters is not where the bike was bought, but whether spare parts, technical information and, if necessary, access to the drive system are available. Send us the model, year and a short fault description first, and we will tell you whether we can take on the work.

What happens if you find something else during the work?

We do not simply continue. We contact you, explain the additional finding and update the quote. We only proceed after you have approved the additional cost.
